Tom Kerridge
Kevin Evans took a trip to the capital to trial Kerridge’s Bar & Grill at the Corinthia Hotel
Location
Perfectly positioned in the heart of London, and minutes from the West End and River Thames, the hotel is within easy walking distance of Trafalgar Square, the Houses of Parliament, Westminster Abbey, the National Gallery, the Southbank Centre, and the London Eye. A short stroll will take you to Buckingham Palace, West End theatres, Covent Garden, Piccadilly Circus, and the fashionable Regent Street and Bond Street for designer shopping. Restaurant & Bars Kerridge’s Bar & Grill – Elevated Grill house with classic recipes with a twist, Tom Kerridge signature dishes which do not disappoint! Full on flavour and luxury – no calorie counting here, just pure indulgence. Tom Kerridge Fish and Chips at Harrods - Tom Kerridge’s new venture with a Fish and Chip restaurant in the main dining hall within Harrods. Not just simple fish and chips, here you can sample lobster, dover sole alongside the classic cod. I would definitely recommend a side of pickles – which was an assiette of pickled onions, dill pickles and pickled egg. The potted shrimp appetiser should not be missed!

Our Visit
It’s that time of year to get started on some Christmas shopping, and where better to do this than in the big smoke. I’m a firm believer that if you are gifting for other people then a little treat or two should come your way. We were so lucky to be staying in the Corinthia Hotel – the location was perfect, and the sheer luxury of the hotel really makes you feel like you are in a special place. Beautifully finished with modern and lavish décor and first-class service from the moment you approach the entrance. It has a serene calmness about it which is welcome after stepping off the street from the hustle and bustle of London. For dinner we ate in Kerridge’s Bar & Grill which resides in the hotel – and lives up to the standards of its surroundings. The meal was everything we expected and more – fantastic service from the team, from Penelope at front of house to Anne who took care of us at the table and the incredibly knowledgeable Martin who was our sommelier – who we could have talked to all night about wine, he was so interesting. The food of course excelled from the amuse bouche of a savoury cheese profiterole to the lobster scotch egg and the ox cheek infused Yorkshire pudding that was part of the Sunday roast – it was classic food elevated with the inevitable intense flavour deliver you would expect from Tom Kerridge. This restaurant is a real must for anyone staying in London.
Personal Note
We had such an amazing time at the Corinthia Hotel – the team made us feel so welcome and the location was just perfect for walking to Trafalgar Square, Soho, Covent Garden and Embankment. This was a real bonus as rather than using the tube we were able to walk about and take in the scenery around us. We really felt pampered at the hotel – from the spacious junior suite to the fabulous spa we really managed to unwind after braving the shops in the frenzied Christmas shopping. We will definitely be returning to the Corinthia and Kerridge’s Bar & Grill – in fact, it’s going in the diary right now!
