The new Pragnell Legacy collection seems strikingly modern, with its chic blackened settings and an eclectic selection of gems. Yet it is, in fact, deeply rooted in history, with antique gemstones set in designs that pay homage to period jewels. Each genuine antique gem in the collection has been secured in a 18ct rose gold and blackened white gold rub-over setting.
It is important to note that Legacy is not trying to masquerade as antique jewellery, but rather to celebrate it. As such, the settings are smooth, the rose gold is lustrous, and hidden along the edges of each jewel are strips of round brilliant diamonds – a detail that would never be found in genuine antique jewellery. The result is an alluring melting pot of old and new.
